AL ULA STARTS SHARAAN RESORT EXCAVATION WORK

The Royal Commission for Al Ula (RCU) has announced that the French contractor Bouygues Construction has started the rock excavation work on the Sharaan Resort at Al Ula. Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, the Sharaan hotel will be built into the rockface of the mountains in the Al Ula Nature Reserve. The resort features 38 rooms and covers a floor area of 37,860 square metres. In addition to building work, the project includes extensive civil engineering work and tunnelling. In June last year, RCU had signed a partnership agreement with Bouygues Construction covering the construction management of the Sharaan Resort and International Summit Centre at Al Ula. RCU said in a statement that its contracting partners will use construction techniques similar to the ancient Nabataean practice of creating spaces within rock and then apply modern engineering methods to construct the resort.     For registration as supplier: https://s1.mn2.ariba.com/Sourcing/Main/aw?awh=r&awssk=gbn2SP5pBLlIx0At&realm=RCU&dard=1 (ICE RIYADH)
