Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao vowed to further cultivate China-Italy relationship, and hopes Italy to play a role in calling EU a rational and open-minded attitude to new energy cooperation with China.Wang made the remarks during the meeting with Antonio Tajani, Italy's deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, at the 15th Meeting of China-Italy Joint Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation held in Verona, Italy, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said on Friday.Wang said that China is ready to work with Italy in promoting bilateral trade by inheriting the spirit of the Silk Road, as well as optimizing investment structure and fostering new quality productive forces.China will enhance green cooperation with Italy to accelerate low-carbon transformation, in order to inject new vitality in China-Italy Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, said Wang, emphasizing that China hopes Italy to play an active role in urging EU to hold a rational and open-minded attitude toward new energy cooperation with China.Tajani said Italy attaches great significance to develop a long-term and stable relationship with China, and welcomes more new energy enterprises from China including electric car companies to invest in Italy.Italy is willing to keep dialogue and cooperation with China under the frame of the China-Italy Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, achieve a balanced development of bilateral trade, said Tajani, adding that Italy also welcomes more direct flights between the two countries to boost bilateral business activities.Wang said 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Italy Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the bilateral economic and trade cooperation has maintained an upbeat performance guided by top leaders of the two countries.The Italy session of "Invest in China," a government campaign to attract foreign investment and help foreign companies better understand China's opportunities, kicked off in Milan recently, Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday.Zhu Bing, an official from the MOFCOM, said that Italy has advanced manufacturing capability and world-famous brands, and believes China can share the large market, stable industrial chain, and unlimited opportunities with all parties.Mario Boselli, president of Italy China Council Foundation, said that to invest in China is important for Italian enterprises, and the foundation will help more Italian products with high quality to enter Chinese market.
