The Polish Chamber of Insurance (PIU) has recorded a large increase in the number of Poles who take out private medical care. At the end of 2023, 4.8 million people in Poland benefited from private health insurance. This represents a figure 14 per cent higher than the year before. Poles spent PLN1.7bn on such insurance - an increase of 33.1 per cent compared to 2022. In the report, the Polish Chamber of Insurance pointed out that policyholders most often buy policies with a wide range of cover. In 2023, they spent most of the money allocated to purchasing private health insurance on them. (ICE VARSAVIA)
