Germany’s investment in Kazakhstan hit a record of $770 mln in 2023Germany’s investment in Kazakhstan in 2023 reached a record level of $770 million, the press service of the Kazakh government said in a statement following a meeting of the Council for Investment Attraction.Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany increased by 24.7% in 2022 to reach $2.8 billion and rose further by 41.3% in 2023.Today, there are 63 ongoing projects with German participation in Kazakhstan for a total value of about $54.4 billion, with 14,700 work places created. Of these projects, 32 have already been taken into commercial operation, providing permanent jobs for about 6,000 people, according to the statement.Kazakhstan is among Germany’s 50 largest trading partners and is a key partner in Central Asia. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said earlier that the trade turnover between Germany and the Central Asian states amounted to $11 billion in 2022, and Kazakhstan’s share in this turnover accounted for over 80%.
