Life expectancy in Kazakhstan in 2023 exceeded 75 yearsIn Kazakhstan, the life expectancy of the population in 2023 was 75.09 years, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reform reported.“Life expectancy at birth of the population in 2023 was 75.09 years and thus became the highest indicator in the last 25 years. Note that during the pandemic in 2020-2021, the indicator decreased after a long increase, then recovered again,” - according to information released on Thursday.According to statistics, life expectancy in urban areas is higher than in rural areas - 75.73 and 74.02 years, respectively.In terms of gender, life expectancy for women also showed an increase and amounted to 79.06 years (in 2022 - 78.4), among men the figure was 70.99 years (in 2022 - 70.2). At the same time, the highest life expectancy is in the city of Almaty (78.28 years), the lowest is in the Ulytau region (72.41 years).Life expectancy at birth is the number of years that, on average, one person from the generation born would have to live, provided that throughout the life of this generation, the mortality rate at each age remains the same as in the year for which the indicator was calculated.
