HCMC – The number of international visitors to Vietnam in the first four months of the year is 6.2 million, up by 68.3% year-on-year, according to General Statistics Office data.Air travel accounts for 83.7% of all the international visitors to the country, road travel for 13.8%, and sea travel for 2.5%.In April alone, more than 1.5 million foreign tourists have come to the country, 58.2% higher than in the year-ago period.January-April international arrivals are over 3.9% higher than the pre-pandemic same-period level, which indicates a recovery of inbound tourism.South Korea has remained Vietnam’s largest tourism source market, with 1.6 million Koreans coming to Vietnam in the four-month period, making up 25.8%, followed by China with 1.25 million (20%), Taiwan with 418,000 and the U.S. with 301,000.During the first four months of this year, revenue from lodging and dining services reached VND237.3 trillion, a notable increase of 15.3%.Similarly, revenue from the tourism and travel sector is estimated at VND19.4 trillion, up by a substantial 49.3% compared to the same period last year.
