DESK ASSISTANCE AND PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND BARRIERS TO TRADE, ICE OFFICE IN HO CHI MINH CITY
The Assistance and Protection of Intellectual Property and Trade Barriers Desk at ICE Office Ho Chi Minh City provides initial assistance, information, training and monitoring of regulations on Intellectual Property and Market Access in Vietnam.
Some of the activities carried out by the Desk are listed below:

- procedures for the registration of the Trademark and the Patent;
- monitoring the development of legislation and procedures for the protection of intellectual property rights;
- information on technology transfer of patent ownership (licensing and assignment);
- indication of the terms for initiating the request for cancellation of the Trademark for non-use;
- software protection;
- issues related to copyright protection;
- drafting of annually updated Guides;
- specific initiatives regarding Italian sounding;
MARKET ACCESS
- monitoring of new regulations and notices on customs issues;
- assistance for the completion of customs procedures and for the solution of any possible
- related issues;
- research and analysis of technical regulations for compliance and certification requirements;
- information on regulations and procedures for the registration of drugs and health care devices;
- regulatory analysis for issues arising from parallel imports;
- information about unfair competition;
- assistance on procedures for participation in tenders;
- guidance on contracting;
- writing guides;
- monitoring of tax, customs and corporate regulations;
- Information on quality standards required for specific products (food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, electronic equipment, etc.).
