PRODUCT CATALOGUE

The Spiral Screen/“Wedge Wire Screen” is today considered one of the most efficient and reliable solutions for water well screening applications, thanks to its high technical performance, large open area, and excellent ability to retain sand and fine particles.
This type of screen is manufactured using a trapezoidal-shaped steel wire helically wrapped around longitudinal support rods to form a cylindrical structure. At every contact point between the profile wire and the support rods, an automatic resistance weld is applied, ensuring high mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, and uniform construction quality. The continuous slot created between each wire winding forms the screening opening, which can be produced with slot sizes starting from as little as 0.20 mm.
The main advantage of the Wedge Wire Screen lies in its ability to achieve extremely fine slot openings compared to other screening solutions. This makes it particularly suitable for silty, sandy, or fine-grained formations, where effective sand control is essential to protect the well and pumping equipment from wear, clogging, and performance loss.
For the same diameter and slot opening, a Wedge Wire Screen provides a significantly higher open area compared to conventional punched or bridge slot screens. This allows improved water inflow, lower head loss, and greater hydraulic efficiency of the well. In addition, the special trapezoidal wire profile creates an outward widening slot geometry that helps minimize clogging and reduces the risk of particle accumulation, improving long-term operating performance and service life.
The correct selection of the screen is essential to preserve well efficiency and maximize the operational lifetime of the installation. Formations with high sand content can cause abrasion, premature pump wear, and obstruction of the water flow. The Wedge Wire Screen contributes to protecting the entire system by increasing available yield while minimizing sanding and plugging phenomena.
An additional strength of PAPARELLI ALESSANDRO E FIGLIO SRL is the in-house profiling and shaping process of the wire rod, allowing the production of trapezoidal profile wires in different sizes and configurations. This manufacturing capability makes it possible to design and produce screens tailored to the customer’s specific technical requirements and installation conditions, including deep wells and applications subjected to high mechanical stresses.
Thanks to decades of experience in the sector and continuous technical development, PAPARELLI Wedge Wire Screens represent a durable, efficient, and dependable solution for water wells, industrial filtration systems, and water treatment applications.

The MultiPack MP System is an innovative high-performance solution specifically developed for sand control and water filtration in wells drilled in very fine or silty formations. The system consists of two screens with different diameters, installed concentrically one inside the other and kept perfectly centered by dedicated spacer rings. The annular space created between the two screens is filled with draining glass beads, which improve filtration efficiency and significantly reduce sand intrusion.
Depending on the technical requirements and geological conditions of the formation, the system can be configured using two Wedge Wire Screens or a combination of a Wedge Wire Screen and a Bridge Slot Screen.
Thanks to its dual-screen structure, the MultiPack MP System provides greater stability, higher mechanical resistance, and superior operating performance compared to conventional single-screen solutions, allowing installation even at considerable depths and under demanding working conditions.
The assembly is supplied preassembled and ready for installation directly at the drilling site, reducing installation time, drilling operations, and the consumption of casing and completion materials. This results in faster well completion and improved operational efficiency on site.
The MultiPack MP System is also particularly suitable for well rehabilitation, relining, and recovery operations on existing wells, improving their efficiency, hydraulic performance, and operational lifespan.
Each MultiPack MP System is individually designed and manufactured according to the customer’s specific requirements, taking into account geological conditions, hydraulic parameters, installation depth, and application demands.
Main application fields:
• water production wells
• drainage and infiltration galleries
• environmental remediation systems
• horizontal and special applications

ZSM Quick Couplings are specially designed connectors for the rapid assembly of pumping columns in water wells. Thanks to their reduced external dimensions, they optimize the available space inside the well, allowing the installation of larger diameter pumps even in relatively small boreholes.
The ZSM system offers several operational advantages, including fast installation without the need for on-site welding, easy assembly and disassembly, reduced intervention time, and simplified maintenance and extraction of the pumping column.
The coupling consists of two male and female connection ends that lock together mechanically. Mechanical retention is ensured by stainless steel spring elements positioned in dedicated grooves, while hydraulic sealing is provided by high-quality rubber O-rings. An anti-rotation locking device prevents accidental disconnection and ensures additional operational safety during service.
ZSM couplings are manufactured in AISI 304/304L or AISI 316L stainless steel for potable water applications and corrosive environments, or in hot-dip galvanized carbon steel for technical applications and test pumping operations.
Their reliability, quick installation, compact design, and ease of handling make ZSM Quick Couplings a practical and efficient solution for pumping systems, deep well installations, and applications where space limitations are critical.

Bridge Slot Screens are manufactured in stainless steel or carbon steel from punched steel sheets that are subsequently rolled and longitudinally welded to form a cylindrical structure. Thanks to their design, they provide a good open area and represent a reliable and cost-effective solution for water wells installed in medium or coarse-grained formations.
This type of screen is among the most widely used in the water well industry due to its excellent balance between technical performance and economic efficiency. Bridge Slot Screens can be produced in a wide range of diameters starting from 88.9 mm, with wall thicknesses from 3 mm up to 10 mm, allowing adaptation to different installation requirements and operating conditions.
The slot geometry is specifically designed to provide effective sand control while maintaining adequate water inflow and structural strength. Depending on the selected thickness and material grade, the screens can be used in various geological conditions and for different well completion configurations.
In versions manufactured with wall thicknesses greater than 7 mm, the Bridge Slot Screen can also be used directly as a working casing string, providing high mechanical resistance, structural stability, and long-term reliability even under demanding installation conditions.

Simple Slotted Screens are a traditional type of well screen mainly used in rocky, gravelly, or coarse formations where extremely fine slot openings are not required. They are manufactured from steel sheets punched with straight-through slots, which are subsequently rolled and longitudinally welded to obtain the cylindrical screen structure.
These screens can be produced in a wide range of diameters starting from 88.9 mm, with wall thicknesses from 3 mm up to 8 mm, allowing adaptation to different well construction requirements and installation conditions.
Thanks to their simple and robust construction, Simple Slotted Screens provide good mechanical resistance and reliable performance in applications where the geological formation naturally limits the migration of fine particles. Their structural design makes them a practical and cost-effective solution for water well installations operating in stable rocky or stony ground conditions.
