The company Candidus Prugger SAS is a small-sized company that started with the production of solid wooden ornaments for furniture and interior fittings in the 1970s.
Since 1990, the company is also the world's sole manufacturer of a unique bending wood, named Bendywood®.
Bendywood® is solid hardwood that is made flexible by a unique, chemical-free thermo-mechanical production process. It can be worked like normal wood and then bent in a cold and dry condition (so no heating, steaming or wetting required).
Over the years, the technology for producing and processing Bendywood® has been continuously enhanced, resulting in a vast and diverse range of products, going from square blanks, boards, mouldings and profiles to a large variety of bending handrails.
Bendywood® is a high-level product that suits both standard and challenging one-of-a-kind projects. It is frequently used by architects, designers and interior decorators from all over the world as a reliable and highly qualitative solution in the domain of interior decoration.

Bendywood® - Bending wood without steam
Bendywood® is solid hardwood that can be bent to a radius of about 10 times its thickness without the use of heat, steam or lamination. In this way, you can easily and quickly bend it into attractive curves and sculptural forms that might not have even been considered feasible in wood.
Bendywood® has a wide range of uses including curved handrails, furniture and sculptural works. It is available in beech, oak, maple, ash, cherry and walnut and in single lengths up to 13m. Furthermore, it can be stored indefinitely and never loses its flexibility.
With Bendywood® you can achieve incomparable aesthetical results for each project, as it highlights the natural beauty of SOLID wood. Yet, at the same time, it is very easy to use. The product is mostly delivered to the site in straight condition, where the customers simply needs to bend it into place, tie it down with c-clamps and leave it for about 48 hours to set before fixing it permanently in place.
