COLLEMATTONI

Collemattoni takes its name from the farmhouse, which, over time, has become the trademark of our winery and of our wines.
Collemattoni is located on a hill top on the south side of the municipal area of Montalcino, just a short distance from the village of Sant’Angelo in Colle. The Collemattoni farmhouse dates back to the end of the XVII century.

The first record of the Bucci family dates to the end of 1800 with Giuseppe Bucci « Zappaterra» (Digger), head of a large family.
The estate was part of the church till middle of ‘80s ( 1980) when Marcello’s father ( Adon Bucci) bought it. Bucci family started with less than 1 hectar of vineyard and the first Collemattoni Brunello di Montalcino was the 1989 vintage ( released in January 1994)
Step by step, Marcello with the support of his father and all family, took care of the estate, increasing also the qt of hectares.
The Collemattoni winery currently features around 12 hectares of vineyards, mostly Sangiovese, in 6 different areas in the central part, south west and south east of Montalcino community.
The winemaking philosophy allows for technology but in a style that comes from belonging to the place and respect for the area.
All hectars are organic certified.
Thanks to the presence of a biomass fuelled heating system and solar panels, Collemattoni produces the 80% of the electricity needed at the winery. Inside the estate there are also rainwater recovery pipes.
Thanks to the enthusiast work of all Collemattoni team, in the last 20 years , Collemattoni winery has become one the most emerging boutique winery of all the area with important success all around the world.
