Cantine Iannella 1920

Founded in 1920 in Torrecuso, in the heart of the Sannio Beneventano area, Cantine Iannella is one of Campania’s historic wine producers. For four generations, the Iannella family has preserved and renewed a deep winemaking tradition, combining respect for the land and native grape varieties with a modern approach to production and hospitality.
Located within the Taburno Camposauro Regional Park, a UNESCO World Heritage candidate site, the winery is set in a hilly area of outstanding environmental and cultural value, characterized by calcareous-clay soils and a fresh, well-ventilated microclimate.

The estate was founded by Giovanni Iannella, who, after the end of World War I, began cultivating the family vineyards, recognizing the great potential of a fertile and naturally suited territory. Over time, the business grew with Nicola and later Antonio Iannella, evolving alongside the market toward high-quality bottled wines and investing steadily in innovation, technology, and the enhancement of estate-grown grapes.

Today, Cantine Iannella, led by Maria Fusco and Mariantonietta Iannella, represents a harmonious balance between tradition and innovation. The wines, produced from native grape varieties such as Aglianico, Piedirosso, Coda di Volpe, Falanghina, and Moscato, express the territory in the glass: authentic, elegant, and distinctive wines, offering a genuine reflection of the Sannio region and its community.

This project was born from the desire to enhance Falanghina Beneventana through an essential and respectful winemaking approach, aimed at expressing with purity the true identity of both the grape variety and its territory.

The grapes come from family-owned vineyards located at 420 meters above sea level, on calcareous-clay and volcanic soils, which give the wine balance, minerality, and aromatic complexity.

The Falanghina is vinified and aged in terracotta amphorae, deliberately avoiding oak or other materials that might interfere with the varietal expression. The natural porosity of the amphora allows for slow, continuous micro-oxygenation, enhancing aromatic purity, fruit brightness, and depth on the palate.

INTUS represents a quest for authenticity and transparency—a process of inner exploration of the raw material that brings together tradition and innovation. The name itself refers to “intuarsi”, a rare and luminous verb coined by Dante in the Paradiso to describe the mystery of the union between the soul and the divine: an act of deep immersion, of fusion without loss of identity.

In the same way, our Falanghina retreats into the amphora, far from external influences, and there—in silence—it evolves, finding its own voice.

INTUS is a wine that does not shout, but whispers.
It asks for attention and time to fully reveal its complexity: three hours of aeration or decanting allow its nuances to emerge completely.

Serve between 10–13 °C. Ideal with structured seafood dishes, white meats, delicate game, and blue cheeses.

With INTUS, Cantine Iannella opens a new chapter in its history: a bridge between past and future, where family memory meets contemporary research.
A wine born from within, as its name suggests, created to express with finesse and truth the deepest soul of Falanghina and the Sannio terroir.
