Cantine Antigori

Our name comes from afar, but our company, founded in 2015, looks to the future with ambition and innovation. Antigori means "place of ancient things" and is the name of one of the oldest nuraghi in Sardinia, located near our winery in Baccalamanza (Capoterra) in Southern Sardinia. We produce in accordance with organic production regulations. The winery is nestled between the sea and the mountains, which form a natural barrier to the cold mistral winds. The main vineyard was designed and planted under the supervision of Giacomo Tachis, one of the progenitors of modern Italian viticulture. The grapes grown here are Bovale, Carignano, Cannonau, Cabernet Sauvignon and Vermentino.

The Bovale red wine from Cantine Antigori is a 100% Bovale, from a native Sardinian red grape variety, rediscovered and enhanced in recent years. Intense ruby red color, with purple reflections, the nose is intense, complex, with fruity, floral, and Mediterranean scrub hints. On the palate, the wine is dry, fresh, and of great structure. Its full, intense, warm taste is characterized by a tannin that is sometimes austere but always elegant. The good acidity and the marked sapidity give this wine great persistence. Bovale goes well with cold cuts and aged cheeses and red meats.
