About us
Ever increasing human life expectancy results in more “healthy years” but also in a longer elderly age. For this reason, people affected by limited functional mobility are becoming a relevant share of the world population.
This tendency generates both a growth in the assistive technology market, and sustainability issues for healthcare expenditure and public assistance policies.
Since 2018 Enclara Medical produces medical devices and other professional equipment dedicated to people who - for congenital reasons, accidents, or advanced age - are temporarily or permanently limited in their functional mobility.
Our creations offer innovative features, excellent quality and design at a value that meets the needs of the Italian and European market.
Production
We design, manufacture and market shower chairs, shower trolleys, shower tubs, and accessories for assisted bathroom, non-magnetic trolleys and other aids, furnishings and complements for hospitalization and rehabilitation.
Alongside traditional technologies, for some of our products we use an innovative system based on a few standard parts - specifically PVC pipes and fittings - coupled together by means of a chemical welding that minimizes the use of screws and bolts, to grant functionality and safety through an original design.
Our components are made of PVC with added titanium dioxide which gives our products special features: strength, lightness, antibacterial properties and safe use near high electromagnetic fields, such as those generated by Magnetic Resonance equipment.

BD 001 Shower Trolley
BDi 001 and BDe 001 shower trolleys are the perfect solution for patient’s treatment in assisted bathrooms of nursing homes, hospitals and care homes. They are designed and built to combine ergonomics for healthcare professionals with patient’s comfort.
FRAME
The trolley frame combines a sleek design, where every edge has been rounded, with an extremely sturdy structure which can support a load of up to 190 kg.
SIDE RAILS –SMART-LOCK SYSTEM
Patient’s safety is enhanced by the smart-lock system, which allows the healthcare profession- al to lift and lock – or unlock and lower – the side rail with a single hand and a in a single movement, while standing in a central position and keeping optimal control over the patient.
MATTRESS
BDi 001 and BDe 001 are equipped with high-strength, fire-resistant, waterproof, foam-padded pvc mattress and cushion.
The mattress includes a wide-diameter, stainless-steel drain, connected to a water drain hose, which is extendable up to 1500 mm.
CASTERS
Four high-performance, wide-diameter, non-marking casters – 3 with total lock and 1 with direction lock – facilitate long straight transfers and reduce caregiver’s stress.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The wide-range height adjustment allows to align the trolley deck to the bed and to transfer the patient without using lifting aids; during shower operations, the deck height can be adjusted to the ideal work position for the healthcare professional.
In BDi 001, height adjustment is driven by a hydraulic pump that can be operated from both sides by a pair of pedals.
BDe 001 features a Linak system which includes a 24 V, 6000 N linear actuator, a control box with IPx5 protection class, emergency stop button and remote control.
As height increases, the top tilts progressively to facilitate the flow of water towards the drain.

VDF 001 Shower Tub
The VDF 001 shower tub is designed for showering patients who can independently seat upright. It grants an ergonomic working posture for the healthcare professional and comfort and privacy for the patient.
STRUCTURE
A sturdy body made of thick fiberglass is combined with an AISI 304 stainless-steel frame with support feet that can be fixed to the floor.
ACCESS
Thanks to the front access, the VDF 001 shower tub can be placed also in narrow bathrooms.
The anatomical seat with backrest slides on guides and can be locked in forward position to facilitate patient access and exit. Ergonomic stainless-steel handles help the patient to seat down and stand up.
SHOWERING
The sliding seat can be locked in backward position which is ideal for patient washing operations.
The front splash-guard panel prevents water from spreading out of the tub.
The VDF 001 shower tub is also equipped with foot bath area, built-in toilet and floor drain 10 cm in diameter.
The tub does not provide built-in taps, but can be complemented with the PLS 001 shower and sanitization panel.
When installing a wall panel is not feasible, the VDF 001 P version represents a compact solution that integrates shower and sanitization functionality in the tub body, with thermostatic regulation of the washing temperature and automatic mixing of the disinfectant.

SDM 001 Multi-Function Shower Chair
SDM 001 is designed to facilitate assisted transport and personal hygiene of disabled and elderly people in community healthcare environments. This chair can be used as a seat for showering the patient; it is equipped with a pail to serve as an independent WC or can be moved over WCs of the healthcare facility. Finally, it can be used as a comfortable room chair.
FRAME
The chair frame is entirely made of the best furniture grade PVC. The addition of titanium dioxide in the PVC compound results in a better appearance by giving it a UV-stable, glossy-white finish; it also enhances mechanical resistance and provides specific antibacterial properties.
Components are assembled using a PVC-base glue, resulting in a true chemical welding: once the parts are joined together, the frame becomes a single piece, extremely solid, rigid and sturdy.
Compared to coated metal chairs, SDM 001 is not subject to rust, scratches, or dents.
SEAT AND BACKREST
Seat and backrest are made of comfortable and hypoallergenic PUR foam. This is a noticeable advantage over seats made of a padded upholstery. Even in case of wear and tear the closed-cell structure of PUR foam prevents water from penetrating the seat and backrest, thus avoiding mould growth.
Seat and backrest can be easily removed without tools; during the washing routine, the backrest can be temporarily removed to facilitate the caregiver’s access to the patient’s back.
SAFETY BAR
To prevent the patient from tipping over while seated, SDM 001 provides a safety bar between the armrests. The locking mechanism is optimized for easy operation by the caregiver, while avoiding accidental release by the patient.
FOOTREST
The slide-out footrest is equipped with an anti-slip strip and is designed to prevent the chair from tipping over, even if the patient steps on it.
DROP-DOWN ARMREST (SDM 001 BA)
To facilitate the patient transfer to and from the shower chair, SDM 001 features an optional drop-down armrest; it is specifically designed to avoid water ingress while showering and to minimize the risk of scratching the patient’s skin during transfer to and from the chair.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT (SDM 001 HR)
SDM 001 offers optional height adjustment within a 9 cm range. This option allows to better fit the chair to tall or small patients and adjust it to different WC heights.

PLS 001 Shower and Sanitization Panel
The PLS 001 shower panel is the perfect solution for washing patients and sanitizing equipment. It is the ideal complement to Enclara Medical shower chairs, shower trolleys and shower tubs.
BODY
The panel body is made of galvanized steel, painted with anti-corrosion epoxy powders.
SHOWER HEADS
PLS 001 is equipped with two separate handheld showerheads. Function is easily identified by different hose colour: white for showering the patient, yellow for equipment sanitization.
The handle design ensures a comfortable and ergonomic grip. The thumb lever on the handle allows to control the flow of water quickly and easily.
THERMOSTATIC MIXER
The thermostatic mixer keeps a constant water temperature throughout the shower operations. The safety button, set at 38°C, prevents scalding.
SANITIZATION
Water and disinfectant are automatically mixed. A setting valve inside the panel allows to adjust the disinfectant concentration according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The sanitizer bottle housing includes a key lock to avoid improper use.
PLS 001 comes in standard version for wall installation. The pedestal is an accessory available on request.

BRM 001 Non-Magnetic Patient Trolley
The BRM 001 non-magnetic patient trolley is designed for easy transfer of patients with limited functional mobility into restricted access zones of MR environments.
BRM 001 is strictly made of non-metallic, non-magnetic, non-conductive materials. For this reason, it is fully compliant with the requirements set by the EN 62570:2016 harmonized standard practice for MR SAFE marking
FRAME

The patient lies on a comfortable foam-padded, water-repellent, fire-retardant mattress. The outer fabric has “Sanitized” treatment (anti-mold, antibacterial, antimycotic).
SIDE RAILS
The side-rails can be unlocked and folded down with a simple operation performed while standing in a central position, which allows the assistant to keep control over the patient.

BARIATRIC VERSIONE
The BRM 001 non-magnetic patient trolley is also available in a bariatric version BRM 001 B: increased width, 6 casters (4 with total-lock brake), a thicker deck and a higher density mattress allow to support up to 250 kgs.
