TENUTA ARABONA

Tenuta Arabona is a 100% organic, family-run winery located in the province of Pescara, specifically in the municipality of Manoppello. This privileged position, halfway between the Adriatic Sea and the Majella massif, lies in an area particularly suited for grape growing, thanks to its deep and fertile clay-limestone soils. Our vineyards are situated at an altitude of 100 to 180 meters above sea level.

Although the winery was built in 2006 by Maria Antonietta De Acetis and her husband Domenico Radica, the company's roots go back to the 1960s, when Domenico's parents were already cultivating these lands. After completing his studies in agriculture in the 1980s, Domenico began to transform the family business, expanding it and initiating a thorough restructuring. In 1988, the entire vineyard was converted to environmentally friendly farming methods, and in 1991, the estate became one of the first in Abruzzo to obtain organic certification.

Today, the family-run estate covers 24 hectares of vineyards and 1 hectare of olive groves, cultivated with passion and respect for tradition. We primarily grow typical Abruzzo grape varieties such as Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Passerina. Montepulciano accounts for about half of our production.

The vineyards, all facing south/southeast, are trained using the double curtain system. Our potential production is approximately 250,000 bottles.
The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand, and we operate on a "zero-kilometer" basis, as the winery is located right in the middle of our vineyards, and the grapes are processed immediately after being picked. This allows us to preserve their integrity and quality and to directly oversee every stage of the winemaking process, all the way to bottling.

Tenuta Arabona's goal is to continue preserving the authentic and natural flavors of the grapes and to offer our customers a unique and original wine that fully conveys the passion, care, and love of its owners. As part of this vision, we constantly strive to implement sustainable practices to reduce our environmental impact, such as using solar panels for energy and recycling process water for irrigation.

Terra Cruda Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC Bio is the most representative wine of our company. It is obtained from a selection of the best grapes of Montepulciano in purity.
The ageing process of this wine lasts about 8 years, starting from 3 years in steel vat, continuing 2 years in wood barrels of third and fourth passage, and then in bottle.
Terra Cruda Montepulciano has been rewarded and reviewed several times by important magazines, the most recent award is a Gold Medal from International Organic wine award.

Manus Plere is our classic line, which includes Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC, Pecorino IGT Colline Pescaresi e Passerina IGT Colline Pescaresi.
The Manus Plere line is produced using only grapes from our vineyards, in purity, grown with organic farming methods, at the foot of the Majella massif and its natural park.
We focus on wines vinified according to traditional methods of Abruzzo and easy to drink.
The white and rosé wines are young and fresh with short ageing in steel vat and the red wine ages for a long time in steel vat and then in bottle.

The wines of Mia Natura line have been inspired from the strict harmony between man and nature.
The vinification starts with a cryomaceration at 0° followed by a fermentation at controlled temperature on pied the cuve on autochthonous yeast.
All the wines of this line are bottled without clarification, only with a slight filtration, so to preserve the integrity of their taste.

The sparkling wines are fully developed in our winery in 600 lt autoclaves with Charmat method, starting from partially fermented must, with no added sugar and without the use of selected yeasts.

Our range of sparkling wines includes: Pecorino Sparkling wine, Passerina Sparkling wine and Rosé sparkling wine.
