Cubbit is the only EU datacenter-less cloud provider. Founded in 2016 by 4 founders, the team now has more than 35 members and serves 4000+ clients in 70 countries, protecting 15M of documents.
Cubbit - first Italian startup invested by Techstars - has recently closed 7M€ funding with CDP Venture Capital, Gellify, Azimut Digitech and Primo VC.
Cubbit, partner of Gaia-X, has received numerous awards from organizations such as Mastercard, TIM, Next Generation Internet, Climate KIC and EU Commission.

Cubbit is the datacenter-less cloud provider that eliminates the root cause of cloud’s problems: server farms. Cubbit is based on a peer-to-peer software that is energy-saving, scalable and encrypted by design. Cubbit’s technology recycles users’ resources of CPU, internet bandwidth and storage that are currently unexploited in the devices sitting in our homes and offices (PCs, laptops, mobiles, servers, NAS, routers, TV set-top boxes, IoT gateways, etc.). Cubbit turns them into web services (cloud storage, hosting, VPN, CDN, etc.) to be sold to companies looking for privacy-by-design, high performances at the edge and low recurring fees in order to finally adopt a cloud provider rather than keep relying on limited on-premises technologies like 6 out of 10 European businesses still do. Cubbit is the only cloud provider that can count on zero CAPEX, minimum OPEX while saving on avg. 40,000kg of CO2 emissions every year per each PB stored.

Its distributed architecture is based on 3 pillars: (i)the Swarm, the peer-to-peer network of devices hosting the actual data of users; (ii)the Super-Node, the coordinator server that manages the metadata and constantly optimizes the Swarm to guaranteeing SLAs thanks to its Machine Learning algorithms; (iii)the Client, the access points for users from web, desktop, mobile.

Each file saved on Cubbit is split into 36 encrypted and redundant chunks, exploiting the power of the AES-256 key. The technology is “zero knowledge”, so no one is able to access the files, not even Cubbit.
