INFLATION IN JORDAN EXPECTED TO DROP TO 2.7% THIS YEAR

Fitch Solutions, the research arm of Fitch Ratings, expects Jordan's real GDP to grow moderately from 2.5% in 2022 to 2.6% in 2023, to remain slightly above the 2.4% average of 10 years before the COVID pandemic, according to a report dedicated to Jordan. The report said the increase in Jordan's economic growth will be driven by the combined performance of all components of the gross domestic product. It expects that the contribution of private consumption to Jordan's economic growth will increase in 2023 for two main reasons; The first is consumer confidence, which will be strengthened by a decline in inflation from 4.4% in 2022 to 2.7% in 2023, on the back of lower global commodity prices.
