Enlight Renewable Energy (Nasdaq: ENLT; TASE: ENLT) announced the start of commissioning of the first wind turbine at Genesis Wind on the Golan Heights the day after the government postponed its discussion of a climate bill. This is Israel's largest renewable energy plant, with a $350 million investment. It includes 39 General Electric wind turbines. According to the firm, the 207 megawatt project will supply clean energy comparable to 70,000 households' annual use, saving 180,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.The plant has been linked to the national electricity grid and has begun running-in testing. Enlight anticipates that Genesis Wind will be fully operational by the end of the third quarter of 2023. Genesis Wind is scheduled to earn $50-52 million in revenue and $40-42 million in EBITDA in its first full year of operations under a 20-year inflation-linked PPA (power purchase agreement) with Israel Electric Corporation.
