The National Standardization Body (BSN) is committed to finalizing Priority Economic Deliverables (PED) to support increased trade productivity in the Southeast Asian region. BSN has the mandate to compile the Roadmap of ASEAN Harmonized Standards to Support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Implementation, one of 16 Indonesian PEDs it wants to achieve in its Chair in ASEAN this year. Head of BSN, Kukuh S. Achmad, stated that standard harmonization is needed to create harmony in guaranteeing product quality, especially for developing countries, so they can compete globally. Standard alignment and mutual acceptance of laboratory test results against these standards can guarantee the presence of more competitive products, supporting ASEAN's equitable prosperity. The ACCSQ notes that many initiatives have been agreed upon in ASEAN, particularly in standardization and conformity assessment.However, there is still a lot of follow-up to be done, such as the Joint Sectoral Committee for Electronic and Electrical Equipment (JSC EEE) action plan to map regional trade using laboratory test results reports or certificates issued by the Conformity Assessment Institute (LPK). The ACCSQ aims to address global economic issues, such as the threat of an economic recession due to geopolitical conflicts, trade wars, and G20 issues. The Indonesian National Standards (SNI) are believed to support the competitiveness of Indonesian products on the world stage, improving the country's economy. The progress of the ACCSQ achievements will be monitored through a monitoring and evaluation mechanism aligned with the 2016-2025 Strategic Plan.
