MANUFACTURING AS THE MAIN CONTRIBUTOR TO EXPORTS FOR JANUARY-APRIL 2023

The manufacturing industry was the main contributor to the national export value in the January–April 2023 period, contributing 70.21% (USD 60.63 billion) of the total exports in the period, amounting to USD 86.35 billion. The spokesman of the Ministry of Industry estimated that the export performance of the industrial sector would increase again after escaping the pandemic. Although global economic conditions are still a challenge, both the Indonesian Manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) released by S&P Global and the Industrial Confidence Index (IKI) launched by the Ministry of Industry show expansion levels. In addition, the non-oil and gas processing industry sector contributed 67.32% of total national exports in April 2023.
