KUWAIT COMPLETES GAS PIPELINE PROJECT

India-based contractor Larsen & Toubro has completed work on a gas pipeline project worth $480m The 40-inch strategic gas pipeline was operational and transporting gas to the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery complex from Gas Booster Station 132 in Kuwait’s north.The pipeline, which is 140 kilometres (km) long, is part of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) plan and the company's plan to increase natural gas production in a way that meets the requirements of the local market."The pipeline passes through gas and condensate separation facilities in the north and south of Kuwait before it reaches the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery.KOC said: “The line will contribute to keeping pace with the company's oil sector strategy for the year 2040, which aims to increase oil and gas production and optimal utilisation of Kuwait's hydrocarbons resources, in addition to meeting the requirements of global markets, while ensuring the highest standards of security and safety, preserving the environment, and taking into account the requirements of the local consumer.”Kuwait has also recently started operating eight pipelines to transport oil and gas to the Al-Zour refinery.The client for that project is the state-owned Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (Kipic), and the total length of the pipelines is 450km.
