MINISTER OF INDUSTRY: THE UTILIZATION OF THE CERAMICS INDUSTRY HAS DECREASED after experiencing expansion

The Indonesian ceramics industry is experiencing a decline in utilization after two years of expansion due to the industry's cheap gas price policy. According to the Indonesian Ceramics Association (Asaki), the industry's utilization reached 75% in the first quarter of 2023, down from 78% in the previous year. This decline is a concern for the Ministry of Industry, as industrial conditions tend to slow down. The weakening domestic market due to inflation and declining purchasing power has also contributed to the decline. Imported ceramic products, particularly from China, are flooding the domestic market, while anti-dumping policies by global markets like the US, Mexico, Europe, and the Middle East have also contributed to the flood of Chinese ceramics. The ceramics industry is targeted to achieve utilization above 82% by 2024. The national ceramics industry has bright prospects, with the domestic market growing through government infrastructure projects. The Indonesian capital city construction project is one potential government project for the industry's development.Link di fonte: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/3591783/menperin-utilisasi-industri-keramik-turun-setelah-alami-ekspansi (ICE GIACARTA)
