Nike footwear products from PT Selalu Cinta Indonesia in Salatiga, Central Java, were exported to the EU by the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) on Tuesday (20/6) for USD 96 thousand. This release gave Indonesia momentum in the global footwear supply chain, according to the Director General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi. "It is hoped that this release of exports will also drive the wheels of the Indonesian economy during the post-pandemic recovery period," Didi wrote in Jakarta on Wednesday. Acting Director of Manufacturing Product Export Development Ganef Judawati also commended PT Selalu Cinta Indonesia and its team for promoting Indonesian footwear exports. Nike Indonesia, a global footwear, clothing, and sports equipment supplier, partners with this manufacturer. This agreement will encourage Indonesia to join the footwear supply chain. Ganef remarked, "We appreciate this partnership and hope for even better synergies." Indonesia ranks sixth in footwear exports in 2022 with 4.16 percent. Indonesia's footwear exports rose 25.1 percent to US$7.74 billion that year from US$6.18 billion the year before. Indonesian footwear exports increased 12.4% from 2018 to 2022.
