INDONESIA MISSES MOMENTUM TO EARN BIG DHE

Due to a deteriorating trade balance, Indonesia missed out on export proceeds (DHE). Despite worldwide demand falling, DHE is still available. Market diversification and downstream export items are needed to employ the DHE policy when the commodity boom cycle resumes. Rising commodity prices boosted Indonesia's 2022 trade surplus to US$54.46 billion. The trade surplus did not raise foreign exchange third party funds (DPK). Indonesia might reap a lot of DHE, but adding a term deposit in foreign currency DHE in banks in 2022 will only add US$7 billion.Foreign currency DPK to exports of natural resource commodities (SDA) intended as DHE sources ranged from 0.3 percent to 5.9 percent in the last five years. 3.32 percent in 2022. Indonesia may still receive DHE in 2023 due to its trade balance surplus and natural resource export potential. The government is strengthening its export strategy, quickening downstream, and encouraging trade in local currencies or those of each country. On July 1, 2023, DHE will replace Government Regulation PP No. 1 of 2019 on Export Proceeds from Exploitation, Management, and/or Processing of Natural Resources. DHE can boost foreign exchange reserves, stabilize the rupiah exchange rate, and boost the economy.Benny Soetrisno, GPEI chairman, expects the new DHE regulations won't hurt business. Exporters have yet to get information on government incentives.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/06/21/ri-lewatkan-momentum-raup-dhe-besar (ICE GIACARTA)
