THE INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT IS EXPLORING TRADE COOPERATION WITH A NUMBER OF REGION

The Indonesian government is exploring trade cooperation opportunities with various countries and regions to expand the export market for domestic products. The Ministry of Trade, led by Director General of International Trade Negotiations Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, is conducting 14 assessments on 14 countries and regions, including the Southern African Custom Union (SACU), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), East African Community (EAC), Djibouti, Algeria, Sri Lanka, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Ukraine, India, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). These countries have the potential to improve Indonesia's export performance in the future, particularly in apparel and footwear. The process of completing trade cooperation with these countries and regions takes time, but the government hopes for an agreed cooperation within the next 5-10 years. The cooperation will cover various trade cooperation concepts, such as the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The Indonesian government is also negotiating trade cooperation with 11 countries and regions, including Bangladesh, Japan (change), the European Union (EU), Canada, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Turkey, Tunisia, Mauritika, Morocco, Pakistan (Trade in Goods Agreement (TIGA), and Mercosur, which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.Link di fonte: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/3601503/pemerintah-jajaki-kerja-sama-perdagangan-dengan-sejumlah-kawasan (ICE GIACARTA)
