Indonesia is once again hosting the 2024 Asian Pacific Aquaculture (APA) event in Surabaya, East Java. The Director General of Aquaculture at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Tb. Haeru Rahayu expressed gratitude for Indonesia's decision to host the event, citing its position as one of the largest producers of fishery products, particularly aquaculture, and its potential to attract foreign investors. The event aims to benefit both foreign investors and the domestic market in Indonesia, boosting investment in the fisheries sector and supporting economic growth. Surabaya's location, culinary offerings, and support for transportation facilities make it an ideal location for the event.Surabaya is also home to numerous fish farming activities and universities with fishery cultivation study programs, attracting many citizens to participate in international activities. APA organizer Iwan Sutanto emphasized that APA 2024, with the theme "Aquaculture - Driving the Blue Economy," is the largest international aquaculture exhibition and conference in Indonesia.
