NATIONAL STRATEGIC PROJECTS WILL BE RE-EVALUATED

The government is re-evaluating the development progress of national strategic projects (PSN) as they approach the end of their term of office. The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs predicts that 30 PSN with a total value of IDR 288 trillion will accelerate their completion this year, with 27 more projects remaining. For 2024, the target is 31 projects worth IDR 172 trillion, excluding industrial estates. The development of these projects will be prioritized no later than the first semester of 2024, before the change of president and regional heads occurs. The government has also compiled a list of PSNs targeted to be completed beyond 2024, with 56 projects with a value of IDR 1,963 trillion outside industrial areas. However, there is a possibility that the number of PSNs that will be "inherited" by the next government to be completed after 2024 will increase. The evaluation was carried out in response to the review by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), which found that not all PSNs could be completed by 2024 according to the target. The government will only continue the construction of PSNs that are already financially closed, and those that have not reached that stage will not be granted a construction permit. To support the development of PSN, the government is expanding cooperation with the private sector. Out of PSN's total investment of IDR 5,841 trillion, 67% is private funding, particularly for the development of infrastructure supporting the economy and urban infrastructure. The remaining 20% is financed by BUMN, and 13% is funded by the state budget. The evaluation must be detailed to identify projects with low economic benefits, financial constraints, or unnecessary development, such as those with higher development, maintenance, and operational costs than financial benefits.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/06/25/proyek-strategis-nasional-dievaluasi-ulang (ICE GIACARTA)
