As the Polimery Police propylene and polypropylene plant launched, Poland gained a second gas terminal. Andrzej Niewiński, CEO at Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A., points out that the terminal is situated at the beginning of the production chain at the plant. “This is where supplies of raw materials necessary for the production of both the intermediate and final product are received,” he added. The plant’s gas terminal is located ca. 25 kilometres as the crow flies from the LNG terminal in Świnoujście and differences between the two terminals include the size of ships that can call at them. The LNG terminal is accessible to ships with the length of up to 300 metres while the plant’s terminal – to ships with the total length of 100-220 metres. (ICE VARSAVIA)
