Local and international consultancy firms are participating in the tender for a study and detailed design work for the Kuwait National Rail Road (KNRR) project.Firms that attended the pretender meeting and are interested in bidding for the role are:Dar al-Handasah (Lebanon)Egis (France)Gulf Consult (local)KEO International Consultants (local)Pan Arab Consulting Engineers (Pace)Sener (Spain)The Associated Engineering Partnership (local)WSP (Canada)The project client, Kuwait’s Public Authority for Roads and Land Transportation (Part), through the Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (Kapp), issued a request for proposals in January. The original closing date was 21 February. The deadline has been extended to 11 July.This first tender for phase one of the project has an estimated value of KD1m ($3.25m).The KNRR forms part of the GCC rail network. GCC railway projects have been progressing with renewed impetus following the Al-Ula declaration signed by the six member states in January 2021.  (ICE KUWAIT)
