KUWAIT EXTENDS GAS PLANT PROJECT BID DEADLINE

Kuwait has extended the bid deadline for a tender for a consulting contract relating to a project to overhaul an acid gas removal plant in the Mina al-Ahmadi Refinery.The contract is for the provision of consulting services for the front-end engineering design (feed) and preparation for the issuance of the invitation to bid.The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has announced a new closing date of 6 July instead of 29 June.The acid gas removal plant that is the focus of the project is known as AGRP-1.State-owned downstream operator Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) uses acid gas removal plants to extract the sulfur contents in gas received from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).In 2013 Italy’s Tecnimont completed a project to install an acid gas removal plant in the Mina al-Ahmadi Refinery.It won the contract worth $407m for the project in July 2010.
