Freedom Holding CEO Turlov announces plans to establish new mobile network in KazakhstanKazakh businessman Timur Turlov, who controls a U.S.-based company Freedom Holding Corp., announced his plans to create a new 5G mobile operator in Kazakhstan.“We've set a goal to create an absolutely new 5G mobile operator within a few years. We dare to take on this ambitious project and address one of the most important issues without grumbling. We want to make the Internet, an essential part of life, available to everyone across the country. To achieve that we need to start building very cheaply and earn money from operations other than communications services. Then we will have the medicine of the future, the education of the future, and security," Turlov posted on social media networks.Turlov noted that Holding aims to expand its client base and launch new products that require high-quality communications services."The construction of a core network, biddings for frequencies, a mammoth amount of work, and very intense competition is ahead of us," the businessman said.Turlov said that he was currently attending a telecommunications exhibition in Shanghai to study best practices."We will start from scratch, so there will be no need to maintain the infrastructure that has been in use for years and return invested funds. Modern technologies allow a much faster and cheaper way to accomplish that," he said.Freedom Holding Corp. headered in Almaty provides financial services in 14 countries, including Cyprus, the U.S., Uzbekistan, the UK, and Germany. It trades on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, the Astana International Exchange, the Ukrainian Exchange, the Tashkent Republican Stock Exchange, and the Uzbek Republican Currency Exchange, as well as on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.
