The Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has reported that in 2022, the value of the Polish telecommunications market reached PLN40.63bn, which represents a decrease by 0.4 percent y/y, while capital expenditures amounted to PLN11.24bn, which represents an increase by 26.3 percent on 2021. The UKE’s figures also show that revenue from mobile telephony increased to PLN14.40bn, i.e. by 7.6 percent, while the number of SIM cards rose by 4.8 percent to 59.28 million. However, the landline telephony market continued to shrink, with the number of subscribers to such services dwindling by 10.7 percent to 2.43 million. Finally, the data presented by the UKE show that in 2022, broadband internet services were used by 63.2 percent of Polish households. (ICE VARSAVIA)
