Russia’s Gazprom starts RON-95 gasoline deliveries to KazakhstanGazprom has already started supplying RON-95 gasoline to Kazakhstan, Kazakh Energy Ministry Almasadam Satkaliyev said.“The existing stock of RON-95 gasoline will suffice for as long as 15 days. (…) According to our estimates, the domestic demand can only be satisfied if we start importing gasoline from Russia,” Satkaliyev told journalists on the sidelines of the Tuesday meeting of the government.Kazakhstan has already started negotiations about RON-95 imports from Russia, the minister said.“We need to import about 40,000 tonnes of RON-95 gasoline a month. Talks are already underway, and Gazprom Neft has started deliveries of RON-95 gasoline,” he said.There are three refineries in Kazakhstan: in Shymkent, Atyrau and Pavlodar.The Atyrau refinery suspended operations on the night of July 3 due to a power outage incident at MAEK which generates and supplies thermal and power energy to the industrial facilities and population in the Mangistau region.The Pavlodar refinery is down for repairs from June 20 until July 19, and the Shymkent refinery suspended the production of RON-95 gasoline July 3 to 14 due to equipment repairs.The Energy Ministry said on Monday that the existing stock of petroleum products in Kazakhstan will suffice to meet the domestic demand until the Shymkent and the Pavlodar refineries are returned into operation after scheduled repairs.According to the ministry, the total stock of gasoline and diesel in Kazakhstan is as follows: 351,000 tonnes of RON-92, which is enough to last for 23 days; 46,000 tonnes of RON-95 (15 days); and 520,000 tonnes of diesel (29 days).
