KazTransOil exports from Tengiz via BTC pipeline in Q2 rose sharply from last quarterIn the second quarter of 2023, KazTransOil increased oil exports from Tengiz via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline to 347,100 tonnes, KTO said on Wednesday.In January-March 2023, 19,200 tonnes of Tengiz oil was shipped through BTC. So, oil shipping increased 18 times in Q2 compared to Q1.No data was provided for the year-on-year comparison.Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan reached an agreement to transport 1.5 million tonnes of oil in 2023 through the BTC pipeline. The transportation of Kazakh oil from the Tengiz field via the BTC began in March. Currently, these volumes are being shipped from the resources of Tengizchevroil (the operator of the Tengiz and Korolevskoye fields).The length of the BTC is 1,768 km, and its throughput capacity exceeds  50 million tonnes of oil per year. In 2022, BTC oil exports amounted to 225.445 million barrels (up 12.6% compared to 2021). (ICE ALMATY)
