THE NATIONAL WINE AGENCY ENGAGES IN THE "ECO2WINE" PROJECT OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

‘The EU Horizon Europe training project Eco2Wine aims to strengthen global innovation and communication in winemaking. The implementation of the project will begin at the end of 2023.Coordinated by the University of Milan, the partners of Eco2Wine are the countries of Georgia, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Slovenia and South Africa and the respective universities: Georgian Technical University, University of Milan, University of Burgundy, University of Geisenheim, University of Perugia, University of Ljubljana, University of Cadiz and University of Stellenbosch and the Spanish National Research Council.Representatives of the wine industry from each country are also involved in the project, including, the National Wine Agency and Shumi Wine Company LLC from Georgia.The activities of the project will be carried out in the directions of conducting the latest research, raising the qualifications of doctoral students and informing the public about new approaches to winemaking.The scientific goal of the Eco2Wine project is to use the microbial interactions that occur during winemaking as an innovative tool. Along with this, the main task of the project is to promote the production of natural, ecologically clean wines, to improve vineyard management methods, and to offer more wine choices to consumers.The project will focus on the latest scientific achievements; It will also use creative approaches to public communication and engagement, including digital storytelling, virtual displays, science-art connections, and efforts to engage relevant public groups in the creation of new ideas.The cost of the project amounts up to 2.4 million euros and will be implemented within four years.https://www.commersant.ge/en/news/economics/the-national-wine-agency-engages-in-the-eco2wine-project-of-the-european-union (ICE BAKU)
