The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority said the sewage project north of Balqaa, which includes the establishment of a purification plant with a capacity of 54,000 cubic meters, will cost 75 million Euro, 60 million Euro of which is a loan from the French Agency AFD and 15 million Euro provided as a grant from the European Union. The Ministry confirmed that it is proceeding with the implementation of the project, which aims to replace the old Baqaa purification plant due to its environmental and societal impacts and which has reached its maximum capacity, as well as canceling the Ain Al-Basha plant to improve the environmental situation in the region and transfer all waste water to the new station.
