Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia intend to expand cooperation, especially in agricultural productionMongolia is interested in supplies of agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan and is willing to explore the issue of establishing joint ventures, as this topic was discussed at the talks between the two countries' presidents, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said last Sunday."Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov had talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in both narrow and extended formats during his state visit to Mongolia," a statement issued following the talks between the two presidents said. The two leaders discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Mongolian bilateral and multilateral cooperation and outlined priorities of joint interaction in the future.Khurelsukh believes, as the press service said, that Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan have every opportunity to bring bilateral relations to a higher level, identifying key areas of cooperation in the trade and economic sector, agriculture, tourism, cultural and humanitarian areas. Mongolia is interested in supplying vegetables and fruit from Kyrgyzstan, and is also willing to look into the issue of joint ventures for the cultivation of these products, he said. For his part, Japarov highlighted the need to increase trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries. The main obstacle to boosting mutual trade is transportation and logistics problems, he said."Kyrgyzstan intends to join in the existing trilateral agreement on international road transportation through the network of Asian highways. The country is interested not only in exporting its products but also in importing Mongolian products," Japarov said. (ICE ALMATY)
