PURSUING GRANTS FROM JETP COMMITMENT

The G20 Summit in Bali has left international funding commitments to support Indonesia's energy transition. The Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) is worth $20 billion or around Rp.310 trillion, with 10 billion US dollars coming from public funds from developed countries, including the US, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Denmark, Norway, and the European Union. Another 10 billion US dollars came from funding by international banks that are members of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). The portion of grants needed by Indonesia is large, as it needs technical assistance, risk reduction on projects not yet implemented, and the application of the principle of fairness in the JETP program. The CIPP, a living document, is being prepared to relate to projects funded under JETP.The JETP targets include ensuring a peak emission of 290 million tons of carbon dioxide in 2030 or lower than business as usual, 357 million tons of CO2, 34% of renewable energy in the electricity mix in 2030, and reducing emissions to net zero emissions after 2030. The government is not pushing for concessional loans, but debt cancellation or debt swaps for the climate to reduce Indonesia's debts and facilitate the energy transition.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/07/10/mengejar-hibah-dari-komitmen-jetp (ICE GIACARTA)
