World Tourism Organization's General Assembly anniversary session to take place in Samarkand in OctUzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed at a meeting with World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili preparations for the organization's General Assembly session to be held in Samarkand in October, the presidential press service said."Particular attention was paid to the preparations and holding of the main international event of the tourism industry this year - the 25th anniversary session of the UNWTO General Assembly in the city of Samarkand in October," the press service said.The parties discussed cooperation with UNWTO on the development of modern tourist infrastructure in Uzbekistan, the press service said. The parties highlighted the importance of expanding practical interaction in attracting leading investors, including well-known foreign companies and brands to implement the projects on building a modern and comfortable tourist infrastructure in Uzbekistan.Additionally, a set of joint activities will be implemented in the field of promoting international image, in the area of education and training of highly qualified personnel, including the establishment of the International Academy and the UNWTO thematic office in Uzbekistan.
