The Central Statistical Office (GUS) has confirmed that in June 2023, inflation was at 11.5 % y/y in Poland, which is in line with the flash estimate published late last month. In detail, prices of foodstuffs and non-alcoholic drinks rose by 17.8 %, prices of alcohol and tobacco products by 12.4 % while prices of footwear and clothes by 7.9 %. On the other hand, transport prices fell by 9.7 %. The statistical office also released inflation figures for Q2 and H1, 2023. In Q2 prices increased by 1.9 % compared to the first three months of the year while in H1 price increases reached 15 % y/y. (ICE VARSAVIA)
