The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) is studying the establishment of three new free zones in Egypt.The new proposed free zones will be located at Alexandria, the 10th of Ramadan, and the 6th of October City, this is in response to several requests from investors in these areas.This came during Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, meeting on Sunday with Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, to follow up on a number of work files.Heiba reviewed GAFI’s efforts to attract further foreign investments, citing the meetings that he held with a number of investors and representatives of international companies, with a view to promoting available investment opportunities in various sectors. During the meeting, Madbouly and Heiba reviewed updates on granting the Golden License to the companies and projects that have applied for it. Heiba also highlighted the significant interest among investors in applying for or receiving the golden license.Last month, GAFI announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a new public free zone in Damietta.
