110 FLIGHTS ARRIVE DAILY AT BEIRUT AIRPORT

The Head of travel and tourism offices syndicate, Jean Abboud, revealed the arrival of 110 flights a day "to Rafic Hariri International Airport, including additional flights", noting that "Middle East and foreign airlines organized additional flights during July and August.  Noting that "on normal days, the airport receives about 90 to 95 aircraft, he stressed that "the number of arrivals and flights to Beirut airport will increase during July and August".  He announced that "during last June, the number of arrivals at Beirut airport reached 430 thousand people, amid expectations that the number of arrivals will reach 1.8 million people during the summer, especially since the frequency of arrivals increases in August and the movement of additional flights increases by 25%".  "The number of arrivals at Beirut airport is very large and the relevant authorities have taken all measures, increased the number of employees and secured the fuel", he said.  "Beirut airport will remain ready, as Lebanon is witnessing a promising tourist season, where Arab and foreign tourists are expected to constitute between 30% or 35% of the total arrivals", Abboud said.
