Freight turnover in Kazakhstan increased 2.5% in first half-yearALMATY. July 18 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Freight turnover in January-June 2023 totaled 248.766 billion tonne-km, a 2.5% increase year-on-year, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.Rail transportation rose 5.9% to 162.992 billion tonne-km, sea transportation was up 0.6% to 381.82 million t/km and air freight grew by 7.6% to 24.55 million t/km.Road transportation declined 6.1% to 12.974 billion t/km,Pipeline transportation went up 2.7% to 72.383 billion tonne-km.Passenger traffic increased 14.4% year-on-year to 34.110 billion.
