As part of a five-month Indo-Pacific cruise, the Italian destroyer Francesco Morosini anchored at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, from July 18 until July 22. Latteri described the journey as Italy's aim to "maintain the status quo" in the Indo-Pacific. He noted that Morisini's voyage had several goals, including promoting security and peace in the region, as stated in the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific.Latteri claimed Italy's newest technologically advanced ship is the Morosini. The ship began her first trip after being transferred to the Italian Navy in October. Since April, Morosini has sailed to Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia. The ship, named for a Republic of Venice soldier, performs patrolling, logistics delivery, surface combat, and humanitarian missions.
