Cargo transportation via Trans-Caspian corridor will reach 500,000 containers by 2030 - TokayevKazakhstan expects the cargo transportation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route to increase to 500,000 containers a year by 2030, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said."It is Kazakhstan’s priority that the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route should develop further. We intend to continue increasing cargo transportation on this route and to bring it to 500,000 containers a year by 2030," Tokayev said at the summit Central Asia + Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) in Jeddah.The president’s speech at the summit was published by his press service on Thursday.The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is an international transport corridor that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further to Turkey and European countries. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of the corridor.In 2022, the cargo transportation volume via TITR totaled 33,600 containers or 1.5 million tonnes, which is an increase of 150% from 2021.
