GOOD FOR EXPORTS, BAPANAS ENCOURAGES DOMESTIC PORANG DOWNSTREAMING

The National Food Agency (NFA) is urging efforts to downstream porang tubers into food raw materials to provide added value and prevent price drops in the market. This is in line with President Joko Widodo's direction, who hopes that porang can be exported in both raw and semi-finished goods and porang rice. The NFA will support promotion and education about porang, and the Daily Executive Regent of Pasuruan, Abdul Mujib Imron, expressed support for efforts to utilize porang commodities. Bapanas also encourages the safety of food products by issuing Health Certificates (HC) and Container House Registrations to boost the competitiveness of food export products. The central government, regional governments, and food activities in each food chain must work together to implement food safety standards. The NFA has issued 620 Health Certificates for nutmeg, coffee, pepper, and areca nut, with a cumulative export value of US$65.67 million. The NFA has also registered packaging houses for mangosteen, salak, dragon fruit, pineapple, and porang exported to China, with a total export value of US$50.98 million, or 41% of Indonesia's total fruit exports in 2022.Link di fonte: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20230720/99/1676759/laku-diekspor-bapanas-dorong-hilirisasi-porang-dalam-negeri (ICE GIACARTA)
