Diriyah Company, formerly known as Diriyah Gate Development Authority, has issued a tender for the construction of The Address Hotel & Resort at the Diriyah Gate project in Riyadh. The bid submission deadline is 27 July. The project involves the construction of a 200-key hotel and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026. UAE-based company Mirage Leisure & Development is working as the project consultant. Diriyah gigaproject Developed by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), the Diriyah masterplan is envisaged as a new cultural and lifestyle tourism destination located northwest of Riyadh’s city centre. It spans 1 square kilometre and combines 300 years of history, culture and heritage with hospitality facilities. The project will feature entertainment, retail, educational, office and residential areas, including 38 hotels, more than 100 food and beverage amenities, and several museums. The mixed-use traditional urban community will be created in the Najdi architectural style, typical of ancient Saudi villages. The historic Al-Turaif city is the centrepiece of Diriyah. Built in 1766, Al-Turaif was designated a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2010. Once complete, Diriyah will have the capacity to house 100,000 residents and visitors. (ICE RIYADH)
