Kazakhstan grain export increased by 33% - KTZOver 8 million tonnes of grain was exported from Kazakhstan in 9 months, which is 33% more than in the last marketing year, the press service of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (KTZ) reported."In nine months (from September 2022 to June 2023), the transportation of grain increased by 29% compared to the harvest loading indicator in 2021-2022 and reached 9.8 million tonnes. Over 8 million tonnes of grain was exported, which is 33% more than during the last marketing year," KTZ said in a statement following a meeting with Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Agriculture.It is also reported that the transportation of milled products increased by 28%, to 2.7 million tonnes. Exports increased by 31% to 2.1 million tonnes.It is noted that the main markets for Kazakh grain and grinding products are traditionally the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran, Russia and China.For 9 months, the transportation of grain to Uzbekistan increased by 31%, Tajikistan - by 30%, Afghanistan - by 48%. Grain transportation to China increased by 300%, up to 1.1 million tons. Shipment of grinding products to China increased by 200%, up to 344 thousand tons."Following the meeting, KTZ recommended that elevators increase the shipment of grain to receive new crops, and organize a round-the-clock loading," the message says.According to KTZ, the operational headquarters on grain will now meet under the Ministry of Agriculture chairmanship at least once a month, and at KTZ - at least once a week.Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan announced its intention to export 9-9.5 million tonnes of grain and flour in grain equivalent in 2022/2023 agricultural year.According to Yerbol Karashukeev, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kazakhstan plans to harvest 16 million tonnes of wheat in 2023.The export of Kazakh wheat to China was suspended in 2021 due to coronavirus restrictions.
