The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has reported that the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in the development of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago has reached over 85 percent. This achievement is attributed to the construction of the National Archipelago National Park, which does not use many foreign products and materials. The construction of IKN primarily uses domestic products in materials, technology choices, buildings, infrastructure, and facilities.The construction workforce at IKN is predominantly local, with 25% being local and the remaining 75% coming from various parts of Indonesia. The construction of IKN presents a good opportunity for construction workers to continue working, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Endra hopes that the local construction workforce can adapt and increase their capacity and quality of work to compete with those from outside the IKN.The presence of construction workers has had a positive impact on the villages and hamlets surrounding IKN, with numerous restaurants, lodging, and urban services available.
