On 27–29 July 2023, Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo visited China for three days to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership. On Thursday (27/7), President Xi Jinping met in Chengdu. The two leaders discussed investments, health, research, and technology collaboration, regional and global concerns, ASEAN-China cooperation, and China's support for ASEAN centrality in achieving a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. President Xi Jinping said that China and Indonesia's "visions are highly aligned" and that they are each other's opportunity for progress. After the meeting, both leaders signed agreements on agriculture, health, the transfer of knowledge and experience for the Nusantara New Capital City (IKN) project, a joint research and development center, technical and economic cooperation, and Mandarin education. President Jokowi will also meet with Chinese business leaders in downstreaming, electric vehicles, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and healthcare. Indonesia trades and invests most with China.
