FERTILIZER INDUSTRY, FOOD SECURITY, AND NATION'S DESTINY

Fertilizer has been essential to plant nourishment throughout the COVID-19 epidemic, which has boosted the agriculture industry. PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) and other state-owned businesses (BUMN) are producing fertilizer at Fakfak, West Papua, starting in 2028. The company uses low-carbon technology to boost output, secure raw supplies, and restore aging industries. Pupuk Indonesia's main goal is to provide national food security, and with a 6-7 million-ton annual urea demand and 3.4 million-ton production, the company is focused on the short term. The company's new West Papua factory will help the national fertilizer sector in the long run. The government has prioritized the downstream development of West Papua's remarkable gas resources. The factory will begin production in 2028 once the business completes land acquisition and infrastructural development. Local community support pleases indigenous project supporters. Fertilizer manufacturers require specialized labor and cash. PKT pioneered low-carbon intensity technologies such as solar power plants, co-firing, electric vehicles, and carbon sequestration through tree planting. The business invested Rp 14.5 trillion in 2021 and 2022's greatest net profit in new factories and efficiency. The organization anticipates possibilities and challenges to ensure community participation and sustainability.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/bebas-akses/2023/07/28/industri-pupuk-ketahanan-pangan-dan-hidup-mati-bangsa (ICE GIACARTA)
